Excellent Ben, you came through with the goods as per usual. I’ve been trying to get this - for some of us obvious - factual account into people’s heads since day one. And i mean 2012 ! lol but particularly the recent events unfolding in Syria.

Thank You.

As usual the US plays with fire by sponsoring terrorists.

And when the blowback comes, as it inevitably does ( http://www.independent.co.uk/news/terror-blowback-burns-cia-1182087.html ) at that point NO ONE who led this will take responsibility or lose any thing. They get promoted upwards for bad policy.

And the US and western public gets fed lies and distraction and disinformation, so that these awful policies are NEVER examined.

When US troops arm and train terrorists, worry about the future. This sort of thing brings to mind Shakespeare's Macbeth and "“…Double, double toil and trouble;

Fire burn and cauldron bubble…”

The Middle East is a classic “witches brew”!

It is always about three things: 1) Raw materials 2) labor 3) markets. In this case it is not by accident that US forces are located in the Syrian areas where one finds oil and wheat. Trump was not kidding when he said "I took the oil." That is as close as he comes to any strategic thinking. It matters not who is running the Washington cabal at any particular time. Personalities are not important. Raw materials, labor and markets are important. Trump may be a little empty headed; but he understands what counts to the corporate owners and managers.
